We are from the Netherlands, but we live here, in the beautiful Czechia, which has become dear to our hearts. The beautzy of both nature and mountains in this country are truly unprecedented for us as Dutch people, and the architecture of the Czech Republic never stops to amaze us.
Still, sometimes we miss something that only the Netherlands can provide.
Than life gets a little gray and we want to fill it with a little warmth and the taste of home.

About Gevulde koek
Gevulde koek translates as “filled cookie” and it is a special Dutch baked dessert made of crispy dough with a typical spicy aroma, filled with a soft traditional almond filling “amandelspijs”.
It all started with the arrival of imported spices to the Netherlands in the 17th century. Gevulde koek dates back to that time and the recipe has remained virtually unchanged for centuries.
Like this we also start by grinding our own fresh spices to achieve the full authentic taste and aroma of this traditional pastry. We use only pure ingredients that we process by hand exactly as it was once done. Our almond filling amandelspijs is of course also homemade, so it is always fresh, giving the Gevulde koek it’s rich taste and the right softness inside.
All of this comes together to form the core of our Gevulde koek. Everything is fresh, without any additives, and each cookie is prepared by hand, with love, one by one.
Our goal is to preserve the authentic old Dutch recipe, which we process with honor and love here in Máslovice. Just outside Prague in the traditional bakery Pekařství Matouš.
